Custom Fields

Custom fields can be added to multiple resources

SMS - the inbound SMS API
Contacts - the contacts table (email or SMS marketing)
Roadmap - Company - the company table

In the API call you can set the field type and the name of the field, this will allow to create a new field for that resource.
